Medium Apple finial Box

Description

This medium box is turned from black walnut (the box), lacewood (the lid), and padauk (the finial). The walnut is from a salvaged tree here in Berkeley, and has some interesting color variation, and the lacewood lid is dramatic. I had fun making this box loosely inspired by the shape of an apple. It is finished with walnut oil and food-safe wax.

The box is about 3.25″ high, and 5.5″ high with the closely fitting lid.
