Monterey Pine and Redwood Vase

Description

This tall vase is made from two slabs of Monterey Pine with bluing streaks that are sandwiched around a thin piece of redwood. It is finished with oil and wax.

The vase is not designed to hold water, but rather for dried floral displays.

Blue Pine (also known as Beetle Kill Pine) is the result of the bark beetle carrying a fungus in the tree that ultimately changes its color and kills the tree. This is only cosmetic and it has no effect on the structure of the wood.
